Walter Partridge, Chairman

walt2Walter Partridge and his wife Stephanie have lived in the Pinery for 23 years. They have 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Walt operates Partridge Auction Services from his office in Parker. Before becoming a professional auctioneer, Walt worked in industrial explosives for over 30 years. He started his explosives career as a sales representative for DuPont in Alaska and ended his career as President of Explosive Technologies International, Export Division. During his explosives career he traveled to many mining and construction operations through out the world. He and his family lived in New Zealand, Australia, Alaska, Delaware, Washington State, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. Walt has had several interesting experiences traveling overseas. For example, on 9/11 he was at a remote site in the Sierra Desert and saw the towers come down on an Arabian speaking station watching with several members of the Muslim community. Several days passed before he was able to get back to the United States.

Before becoming a professional auctioneer, Walt conducted benefit auctions in each area he lived and continues to do so. He is certified by the National Auctioneers Association as a Benefit Auction Specialist. Walt joined the Colorado Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association in 1998. He was elected to the Colorado Auctioneers Association (CAA) Board of Directors in 2002, and along with chairing several committees, served over 8 years as treasurer and was president for 2 years. He was 2005 Colorado State Bid Calling Champion and inducted into the CAA Hall of Fame in 2013. He is past President of the Explosives Distributors Association, an organization of explosives distributors in the United States and Canada. Walt is active at his church and enjoys fishing and traveling with his family and friends.

Walt has served multiple terms on the Pinery Water Board. He is honored to serve on the board and understands his responsibility to the Pinery residents. He continues to work for cost effective reliable water and sewer services.


Heidi Tackett, Secretary

Heidi_TackettHeidi Tackett has been a Board Director since August 2010. She and her family moved to the Pinery, from Aurora, in August 2002. Her work background is in healthcare – she was previously a Senior Account Manager for PacifiCare Health Systems – and her consulting business focuses on project management. She has always been active in the business, school, and homeowner communities.

Her service includes the Aurora Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for six years, serving as Chairperson from 00-01; the Leadership Aurora Board for six years, serving as Chairperson from 94-96; the Lake Shore Homeowners Association Board for three years; the Aurora Citizen’s Advisory Budget Committee for five years; and service on all of the School Accountability Committees in the Ponderosa feeder area since 2003. Heidi lives in the District with her husband, Gary, their son, David and their daughter, Rachel and she is looking forward to her service on the Pinery Water Board.


Stephan Tinnes, Treasurer

Steve_TinnesSteve has been a Pinery resident since 1984 and you  may know him from his lawn care business in the area. He was a board of director and treasurer for the Colorado Association of Lawn Care Professionals from 1996-2008. He was also a local schoolteacher and freshman wrestling coach at Ponderosa High School during the 1990-91 season.

Prior to that, he was an operations consultant for McDonald’s Corporation in several locations to include Chicago, Paris France, and Denver. In 1983 he opened the World’s highest volume McDonald’s in downtown Chicago. In 1975 he managed the highest volume McDonald’s in the Midwest located in Aurora, Illinois. As the newest director for the district, he hopes to lend some perspective on water use and conservation as it relates to lawns and landscapes.


Russ Hokanson, Assistant Secretary

Russ and his wife (Doris) have lived in the Pinery since 1993. When he graduated from high school he served in the Army Reserve for 6 years.

He graduated from College in Automotive Engineering Technology / Business Management and then landed a career with Chrysler Motors Corporation (CMC), went though their Management Training Program, worked in Cost Accounting, Quality and Product Engineering and Special Projects and was a Vehicle Test Driver. He worked for (CMC) 41 years before retiring in 2008.

Russ has one patent with (CMC) in his name. He managed the (CMC) Denver Emission Test Center in Aurora for 32 years.


Jim Evans, Director

jimJames A. “Jim” Evans and his wife Jeanne have lived in Pradera for 8 years, and currently 13 family members live in the Pinery Water District. They have 4 children, 20 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. After two years of college, Jim served a volunteer two-year church mission in Australia, and then 6 years in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Evans established his consulting firm, JED Resources, LLC in 2007 and is Owner/Principal Geophysicist. He is a resourceful, seasoned senior geophysicist with a strong, 35+ years’ geophysical/geological, multi-company, multi-basin background, including Gulf Coast and Rockies. Jim earned a B.S. degree in Earth Sciences, Geology Major, from The University of Tulsa, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Multi-company employment includes Running Foxes Petroleum, NexGen Oil & Gas, Renegade Oil & Gas, Mitchell Energy, Devon Energy, Hess, Amoco, and Phillips Petroleum. His recent consulting 3D seismic interpretation led to the 2012 discovery of the new Lincoln County, Colorado, Arikaree Creek oil field, with an estimated 16.5 million barrels of original oil in place, and initiated a new Paleozoic play in an area generally unexplored for over 20 years prior to 2009.

As the newest director for the district, Jim hopes his geology, geophysics, and business-owner background will be a very positive contribution to the Pinery Water and Wastewater District goal of “Quality Water for Life”.
